Established in 1956, Wimberley's Pioneer Town contains structures from the mid to late 1800s. A blacksmith shop, an opera house, a general store and a gun shop are just a few of the numerous buildings for guests to see. Governor's Mansion-Austin This building is the home to the current state governor, as it has been since 1856. This is one of the oldest buildings in Austin, and tours are available; it is recommended that visitors call ahead for tour information, as the governor has the power to cancel tours at will.
